Stein 7 New Things: Wallwisher

Wallwisher is a good site to post comments. I created this site. I do not know how often my class would use it but it would be a good place to post questions and I would answer them directly on the wall. I could also see teachers using this wall to collaborate about different lessons and give feedback.

Stein 7 New Things: Resiem

Resiem is a very easy tool to upload images and create changes.
I used my school website picture to transform. Here it is. Students can use any picture and transform it to their own design. Students can describe their picture and share it with other students. They can explain why they chose that image and what changes they made to it.

Stein 7 New Things: Quizlet

Quizlet is a great place to locate flash cards about any subject or create your own. I love this site. I will be implementing it into my new third grade class. I picked multiplication flash cards. Third grade students are introduced to multiplication in third grade. Therefore, flash card activities will come in very handy.

Stein 7 New Things: Zotero

Zotero is a useful tool to locate Internet sources. I would set Zotero on my personal school computer. Using it would be more useful than searching for my sources through a search engine. It would be very nice to allow my students to have access to my Zotero so they can quickly navigate to the same site as me.

Stein 7 New Things: Yola

Yola is a very easy tool to create your own website. View my site. I am creating my own site this year for my classroom, but I am struggling on which one to choose. I want to become more familiar with Yola to know it is the best site for my students and parents. I could also seeing my students creating their own site, with parent permission of course. This would be a great way to implement technology into my classroom, with individualize websites.

Stein 7 New Things: Bitestrips

Bitestrips
I created my own Bitestrip, check it out. I could see students using Bitestrip to create their own comic. It has a lot of options to choose from and I found it very user friendly. Students can create their own story or summarize a previously read story. I could see myself implementing this site into my curriculum this school year.

Stein 7 New Things: Box

The Box allows files to be organized and easy to locate on line. I could see myself using this to upload documents to the students computers when using the COWs. Students sometimes struggle at the younger age level locating items on the Internet. I could use the Box and place key locations about topics being presented to the students.
I added a presentation created by myself and another student during this summer session one course. Here is my added folder Summer Session.

Jones 7 New Things: Nicenet

Nicenet is a very easy website for anyone to create. It is similar to a wikispace. It is very plain and simple for anyone to post a blog, send a message, search for links, etc. I still want to create my own Wikispace but Nicenet would be a great place for someone who is not very computer savvy.

Jones 7 New Things: Notely

Notely is a great website to keep people organized. I am already a very organized person, therefore I do not think I would use this very often. I keep up-dated files very easy for my personal school work during my graduate program and for my elementary class. It would be great for anyone that is not organized especially high school or college students.

Jones 7 New Things: Wufoo

I created an order form for a T-Shirt. At our school we like to have matching T-shirts for our casual days or pep-rallies. By providing a t-shirt form it would be a lot easier for the order to go through technology rather than someone collecting the information and getting it to the producer. Wufoo is a great place for surveys, invitations, order forms, etc. The only down fault is you can only produce three forms before purchasing Wufoo. I think people can use this for any reason business or personal.

Jones 7 New Things: Kyolo

Kyolo was very easy and fun. I could see myself sharing fun pictures with my family and friends.

Jones 7 New Things: Widgetbox

Wow who knew widgets are SO much FUN!! I love to bowl I have bowled on leagues for almost all of my life. I added the Widget bowling at the bottom of my blog. I also added a Monkey named Pinky. I have always wondered what it would be like to raise a monkey. I do not know how well widgets would be used for instructional learning or selected by students. But they are a great way to personalize a blog page. I wonder if there is a place like blogging for students. I will have to check into that. Thanks for a great resource of widgets!

Jones 7 New Things: Moshi Monster

I too found Moshi Monster to be a great responsible learning environment for students. I did not get a chance to incorporate it into my classroom this year, but I hope to next year. I feel it gives everyone the same opportunity to have a "cool and fun" monster and to care of it responsibly and respectfully. I am not sure what standard it would cover yet, but I do hope to allow my students the opportunity to view and give me feedback about it.

Jones 7 New Things: Which Date Works

Which date works is a great for planning any event. I sent out a reminder about an In-Service some girls from worked signed up for on June 15. It was very quick and easy. You can even get your address book from other sites you might have it located on. I could see Which Date Works being used to schedule team meetings, committee meetings, etc. I really liked the layout and how quick and user friendly the site was. Good resource for planning!
